The Ohm Subwoofer/Satellite Group combines high-end sound quality with flexible and inconspicuous
placement options for our 3-D Ohm Theater for Music and Film. They work well,
not only in the simplest, two-channel music systems, but also in
the most elaborate, six-channel, Dolby AC-3 systems. The heart of all
these systems is our small (7"H x 6"W x 6"D) SAT-2 satellite. It
reproduces the entire sound spectrum, from the lowest human voices
(100 Hz) to beyond the highest frequencies that CDs provide
(20,000 Hz). Their 5.25" poly-carbon woofer goes
this deep and still plays loudly. To fit a woofer
this large into our tiny cabinet required some unique technology.
We developed it. The front half of the cabinet and
the woofer frame are one metal casting, a housing much
stronger and stiffer -- and smaller -- than any plastic or
wood cabinet. Of course, our Sat-2 housing also
allowed for WaveForm Fidelity, the naturalness, clarity and intelligibility
all needed to optimize the benefits of Full Room Stereo.
In Fact, the SAT-2 creates such effective Full
Room Stereo that no center channel speaker is required to achieve
astonishingly real home theater in most rooms! These satellites and
any of our three subwoofers integrate tightly to make one,
seamless, loudspeaker system. (You can mix and match
different brands of subwoofers and small speakers, but you can't achieve
high-end results that way -- that's why we integrated these systems.)
Ohm offers three subwoofers, all of which mate to our Sat-2s perfectly.
The smallest subwoofer, the SB-1, is designed primarily for
music and is ideal for small to medium-sized rooms. The SB-2,
our mid-sized subwoofer, was designed to provide exciting
movie effects in small to medium-sized rooms. The third and largest
of the three, our SB-4, has a unique design that delivers all the
bass output of our Walsh 5! It is the only 4 channel subwoofer on the market.
In addition to providing bass for the main right, left
and center loudspeakers, it also provides bass for the rear channel.
The Ohm SB-4 meets the new audio standard for High Definition, which
requires bass in all channels. There aren't too many home
theater systems available that meet this new standard, but
there are already many films available, such as Forest Gump,
that take advantage of dramatic bass in the rear channel.
To complete the multi-channel systems, auxiliary satellites
for surround and ambience use plus a shielded version for
center channel (when necessary) are available. A 3-D Ohm
Theater for Music and Film system, with inconspicuous, little speakers
can be designed for your specific room with the Ohm Sub/Sat Group.
