Here is what we can do for C2s and D2s:

Trade-ins:

We happily take these models in trade toward other speakers. You can get up to $795 for C2s or $695 for D2s in credit if your speakers are complete and undamaged. We give up to 25% off the new speaker price. Call us at 800-783-1553 to discuss your options.

Up-Grades:

The D2 can be upgraded to the sound quality of a C2 with the addition of a dome tweeter and crossover harness. The upper treble response is extended to add sheen to cymbals and metallic quality to horns. You must cut a hole in the front panel (a template is provided) and install the crossover harness. The whole process takes one hour. The 2 tweeters, 2 harnesses and installation instructions cost $100 plus shipping.

Both the C2 and D2 can have tighter and deeper bass with the addition of a SubBass Activator(SBA) and our upgraded 10'' woofer. The SBA eliminates the drive below the speaker's natural response to reduce distortion and clean up the deep bass. The upgraded woofers have a new cone/surround for a smoother transition to the low tweeter. The new foam surround is projected to last up to 30 years. FerroFluid cooling handles the thermo transients from CDs. The new woofers cost $290 per pair (they should be changed in pairs) including the SubBassActivators with the return of your old woofer. We will send your new ones first and you can then use our packing to ship back the originals. Installation requires a screw driver and takes less than twenty minutes.

The C2's highs have wider dispersion with our new 3/4'' high tweeter. Even when you are off center axis you will hear the same extended high frequencies you normally enjoy when you are on center axis! These new tweeters cost $140 per pair.

Repairs:

The new woofers cost $290 per pair (see above for details). The D2s only tweeter and the low tweeter in the C2 have a screen on the front with an Ohm logo embossed on it. This higher powered version of the originals costs $45 each. The upgrade 3/4'' dome tweeters are available for the C2s high tweeter at $70 each. The grill cloth and frames are $35 each and are available in black. Although crossovers rarely have to be replaced, we have fully tested, used C2 crossovers available for $55 each.
