The Walsh 4 was for mediun to large rooms in the second generation Walsh speakers which provided deeper bass and higher treble. We used real wood veneer cabinets with an Ohm logo in the lower center. There were 3 controls on the back: one to match the bass response to your room size (down for small rooms, up for large rooms and in the middle for mid-sized rooms), one to match the treble(increase for rooms with carpeting and over stuffed furniture, down for hard floors and no drapes, in the middle for average mixed rooms), and a third control set the ''perspective'' (forward brought the midrange up slightly and recessed depressed it slightly.
The speakers' drivers came as matched mirror image pairs. They have labels identifing the left speaker and right speaker. The cabinets are interchangable so it is important to have the drivers on the right side with the Ohm logos on the front. Placed eight to twelve feet apart and about one foot from the wall gives the smoothest bass and best imaging.
Upgrade Options:
The driver can be upgraded to the new Walsh 200 Mk-2 which allows for the bass to be extended down and the treble to have wider dispersion. All necessary parts can be installed with a screwdriver and hotglue gun and takes only 20 minutes. The upgrade comes with a 3 Year Limited Parts & Labor Warranty.
