The Walsh 3XO replaced the Walsh 3 and had real wood veneer cabinets. The XO stood for eXtra Output because this series was more sensitive than the earlier series. It used the same Walsh 3 cabinet and grill with the Walsh 3XO driver. None of the XOs had controls. There are Ohm and 3XO logos on the cabinet at one corner. There is a foam surrond inside the driver that requires periodic replacement.
There should be a label under the grill that says ''aim toward center of room''. This label should be opposite the corner where the wires are coming out of the driver can. When set up, the Ohm logo should be on the front of the left speaker and the 3XO logo on the front of the right speaker. The Walsh 3XO should be set up eight to twelve feet apart, with the labels on the inside front corners to benefit from the best Full Room Stereo effect.
Upgrade Options:
The speaker can be upgraded with Walsh 200 Mk-2 driver and a vent adapter to tune the cabinet lower for deeper bass. Installation requires a screwdriver and takes only 10 minutes to install. You will enjoy much deeper bass and more open highs in exchange for lower sensitivity and more ''laid back'' balance. You must return the old drivers within 30 days for the price shown
Good Listening!
