The Ohm L is the most popular speaker Ohm has ever built. It was designed to have the deep bass of the popular Advent Loudspeaker in a much smaller cabinet by using optimal venting techniques. The low tweeter was the same as used in the much more expensive Ohm H and C2s. The high tweeter extended the treble beyond audibility. The system received rave reviews. Tens of thousands were sold in the late 1970s and are still providing high listening pleasure.
Upgrade Options:
The OHM L upgraded woofer kits offer smoother transition to the low tweeter and use a new foam surround that is projected to last up to 30 years that will allow for more clarity on female voices. The FerroFluid cooling handles the thermo transients from CDs.
Tighter and deeper bass is heard with the addition of a SubBass Activator (SBA) and vent adapter. The SBA eliminates the drive below the speaker's natural response to reduce distortion and clean up the deep bass. The vent adapter tunes the cabinet to work with the SBA and new woofers for deeper bass response.
Trade-In Options:
Ohm allows up to $495 for the return of a complete pair of undamaged Ohm Ls toward 25% of the purchse price of new Ohm speakers.
